Renovations
New Workshop
The last few months have seen many changes at Lunenburg Boatworks and Quantum Maritimes. Renovations are happening throughout our facility. The upgrades will see an additional 2400 square feet of space dedicated to Quantum Maritimes. The existing shop gains a new workspace and upgrades to the paint shop. Other upgrades will allow Lunenburg Boatworks to expand their rigging services due to increased floor space. We didn't stop inside - landscaping will triple the available outdoor storage space for boats.

J/Shop
J/Shop
The new shop is full for the winter. J/Boat projects top the list with 2 J/22s, 5 J/24s, 2 J/29s and a J/80 all scheduled for work at our shop this winter. There are a couple of work slots still available for the spring, but they won't last long. With the J/24 North American's coming to Halifax in August there is no better time to get your bottom done and start sailing higher and faster. We will also be doing lots of optimizing work to rigs and deck layouts in anticipation of the big event. Free consultations are available for all class members. Call us today and order up some more boatspeed!

New Facility
New Facility
Lunenburg Boatworks is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new workshop for 2010 and beyond. Our new facility is the former Transom Boatworks shop located between Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, only a couple kms from the Lunenburg Yacht Club. This new multi-purpose shop space has 4300 sq.ft. of space and we have a large area outside for further storage and work. We are very excited about the growth of Lunenburg Boatworks and welcome you to drop by our new shop and see what we can do for you and your boat.

Strong Season for J Racing
J Racing
Racing J/boats in Atlantic Canada is great. Fleets are growing, participation is strong and the calibre of racing is on the rise. Both the steady growth in the J/29 and the new momentum in the J/24 have contributed to an overall rise in participation. We even had more J/24s (20) at the RNSYS Prince of Wales regatta than at the National Championships (17). At Lunenburg Boatworks we are serious about sailboat racing and love to see more people enjoying the sport. Big events are on the schedule for 2010 so give us a call to get a competitive edge.

'Spirit' Heads South
Spirit
'Spirit' John and Jane Franklin's Atlantic 55 performance cruising catamaran charged off for the Caribbean after the summer in Nova Scotia. 'Spirit' is undergoing a major multi year refit of her interior with Lunenburg Boatworks. There is also a long list of tasks to be completed each year including rigging and systems throughout. Most racers will recognize 'Spirit' as the RC boat that the Franklin's generously donate for regattas on Nova Scotia's South Shore.
